Optical communication technology – known as Free Space Optics – stems from 20+ years of civil science and federal investments and deployments, by government entities such as the Department of Defense, National Aeronautical Space Administration, European Space Agency, and Japanese Space Agency, AND is now being commercializedby private firms, such as Laser Light Communications.

Laser Light has integrated all aspects of advanced data communications platforms, including Software Defined Network technologies (SDN) into its overall system architecture and design, known as High Articulation Laser Optics, or “HALO”.

Laser Light’s HALO Global Network will benefit from:

  • Unlimited availability of unlicensed optical spectrum, rather than expensive, scarce radio frequency spectrum.
  • Inherent operating efficiencies and global access footprint of satellite, mitigating the need for costly terrestrial networks undersea or across continents.
  • Regional terrestrial distribution and interconnection partnerships interconnecting its 100 Points of Presence (PoP’s) within 20 -25 SD-WAN’s world-wide.
